AUTOMATIC vs. MANUAL

Manual vehicles are much more common in Albania than automatic vehicles. You can rent an automatic, but these cars can cost 30% more than a manual vehicle.

PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF LOCATIONS

Sometimes it makes sense to pick up a car at a hotel and drop it off at Rinas departures. The Rentout mobile app offers you this flexibility and various car types, but if it is not needed, we advise you to avoid paying the difference for the pick-up and drop-off location fees.

For example, if you are driving through southern Albania and you may pick up a car at Tirana Airport, it is better for you to choose your car location outside the airport borders for a cheaper price. Even though dropping the car off at a different location saves you a lot of time and unnecessary backtracking, there is a drop fee, and this usually costs between €50 and €100.

Do you want to hire a car at Tirana airport ?

A green card is a cross-border insurance card that proves that your car has at least the minimum level of insurance required.
